Thirty men and women are expected Friday, November 30th, at the Saint-Jean Garrison as part of the fifth edition of the Powerlifting Competition. Go see them at work!

Jean-Robert-Rioux, fitness instructor for Personnel Support Programs (PSP), affirms that 22 athletes are currently registered. "In addition to the military coming from our region, we have some from Quebec City, Halifax, and Kingston."

As in previous years, three events will be at the «rendez-vous»: the squat, the bench press and the deadlift. Mr. Rioux maintains that this competition is not only for the experts and that all fans of powerlifting are welcomed. Athletes will be divided into four categories: super light, light, medium and heavy. "This year, we added a category: 45 years and over."

Jean-Robert Rioux concluded by wishing that as many spectators as possible be present for the event to encourage participants coming from across the country. "It would be great to have a good crowd to energize our athletes!"
